The fully redeveloped second generation of the Panamera was first introduced in the summer of 2016. The new 2018 Panamera 4 E-Hybrid benefits from the dynamics of the 918 Spyder super sportscar; while the Executive models feature a wheelbase that has been extended by 5.9 inches with an extended level of standard equipment. This includes features such as adaptive air suspension, electric rear comfort seats with comfort headrests, heated seats front and rear as well as rear roll-up sun blinds. The Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Executive comes standard with all-wheel drive.

The Panamera 4 E-Hybrid delivers a winning combination of a performance-oriented hybrid all-wheel drivetrain and sustainable e-mobility paired with a high level of driving dynamics and a high level of comfort.

Power is generated by a new 2.9L V6 twin-turbo engine and the synchronous electric motor. Torque is communicated to the wheels via a new, extremely quick and efficient Porsche eight-speed Doppelkupplung (PDK) automatic transmission. This transmission replaces the eight-speed automatic on the previous Panamera S E-Hybrid. The electric motor is powered via a liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery and despite the fact that the energy content of the battery has been increased from 9.4 to 14.1 kWh, its weight has remained the same. The Panamera 4 E-Hybrid always starts in pure electric mode. As in the 918 Spyder, the electric motor can deliver additional power at all times.

This ensures tremendous driving pleasure enabling the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid to accelerate from zero to 60 miles per hour in just 4.4 seconds thanks to the boost function.

Inside the passenger cabin, the new Panamera exhibits a completely new display and control concept. Touch sensitive surfaces replace buttons in many areas, and high-resolution displays are integrated into the interior. The digitalization of the Porsche interior has reached the luxury sedan segment aboard the Panamera in the form of the new Porsche Advanced Cockpit. From the low seat position typical of sports cars, drivers not only see the traditional front-end landscape of the car’s fenders and power dome, but also two seven-inch displays that are placed along the driver’s line of sight for ideal ergonomics. Each can feature two instruments, and located centrally between these two displays, is the tachometer, which is still an analog instrument in keeping with tradition. To the immediate left of the tachometer is the virtual speedometer.
